Time to ponder

Thursday 8th May 2008

Scripture

Psalm 32: 1-2 “Oh, what joy for those whose rebellion is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of son, whose lives are lived in complete honesty”.

Observation

This Psalm is a contemplative moment for David. He reflects how good the grace and mercy is of his God. He understands that the ones who have had the courage to confess their sin have received a pardon, and realises that those who have stubbornly soldiered on in their pride have suffered greatly.

Application

I need to be quick to confess my sin and be ready to depart from the ways of wickedness. I have a choice to either hide my wrongs or bring them into the light and allow Christ to deal with them. I wan to constantly be experiencing the joy of the Lord as I live transparently and honestly for the Lord.

Prayer

Father thank you for this moment of contemplation. May I be often found quietly before you in repentance, grateful for your mercy.
